I was curious to see what everyone’s favorite use of the Polymorph spell in their game was?
In a campaign I played in (my first one I might add), the second character was an Earth Genasi Stone Sorcerer. My friend’s character was trying to reclaim his family’s estate that had been stolen by a vampire. The plan was, to sneak him in to the area where the house was. So, I cast Polymorph on him, and turned him into a horse and walked him through the gates. The best part was, after we had done that, we learned that no one really cared, nor recognized him after we changed him back, so it wasn’t even necessary to Polymorph him to begin with. Lol.
I was DMing a game where the wizard polymorphed the cleric in a giant ape because she wanted to do damage instead of just heal. She proceeded to smash an entire encounter almost single handed, and the glee she had the whole time was amazing!
She later said that she loves healing and support, but just had an itch to get hands on in battle that day, and having the option thanks to the polymorph was pretty perfect for that lone night of smashing.
My favorite polymorph moment was when my nature loving Celestial Warlock turned into an elephant in an attempt to return two eggs to an angry Roc who kept trying to pick up fake eggs that were really a cart disguised by the spell Silent Image. That combat was a riot!

Aside from turning a PC into a big creature to inflict more damage, I've used it to turn a party member into a small bird so that he could move between the bars, escape the cell, and fly away.

Turn a BBEG into a frog, toss it up over a cliff, and have the archer/mage shoot it, so it falls in its normal form and takes a bunch of fall damage.
