Was building a bladesinger and thought it'd be fun to see what others go to for gish characters.
There was a pretty in-depth thread last month where people shared their GISH builds in a bit of a contest:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/tips-tactics/73582-5e-throwdowns-d-d-beyond-edition-1-the-gish
I'm still planning to eventually use my character build from that, which is a Swashbuckler Rogue/Shadow Sorcerer multiclass that focuses on using darkness to land booming blade sneak attacks.
Watch Crits for Breakfast, an adults-only RP-Heavy Roll20 Livestream at twitch.tv/afterdisbooty
And now you too can play with the amazing art and assets we use in Roll20 for our campaign at Hazel's Emporium
Eldritch Knight 7, War Wizard X
War magic lets it keep up in close combat, while it gets some decently powerful spells.
Still wish there was a dedicated arcane/elemental gish class like all the previous editions had.
