is it currently possible to stop DMs on campaigns from being able to edit the Character sheets of the PCs? In some cases it might be useful that they can, but I see a lot of things that could potentially, unintentionally go wrong with that, too.
The DM is given full access to character sheets to enable them assist players in character creation and progression, as well as to grant them all the information they need to DM (remember that it's generally assumed the DM has full access to character information).
The only way to prevent your DM from being able to edit your sheet would be to remove the character from the campaign.
Change things you maybe don't want changed. Maybe your DM isn't all that technologically proficient.
It might just be me, but for me it seems like there may be a bit of a lack of trust in the DM. If you don't trust him to have access to your character sheet (respectully, obviously), are you really going to be able to trust him to run the whole campaign for you and your group ?
I don't think it's about trust. Two different things whether you trust your DM with building an amazing world and story or giving him/her full access to your information within the character sheet versus necessarily giving access to editing your sheet.
Anyway, just asked if there is such functionality - for the players to choose giving access.

Thank you; I understand why there is such a functionality; I would assume most people won't mind their DM having access and a lot may need support. I just wondered whether there is an option to remove the "Edit" capability based on players' preference.
If not, the easy work around is to just share the the link to the character, if it's left public which would still contain all of the character sheet details; though it would prevent one using the encounter functionality.

That will also affect the sharing capabilities in the campaign for purchased content and non published home brew content.

Hi all,
is it currently possible to stop DMs on campaigns from being able to edit the Character sheets of the PCs?
In some cases it might be useful that they can, but I see a lot of things that could potentially, unintentionally go wrong with that, too.
Thanks!

Just wondered why it is a given to give the DM access to the players character sheets, and whether there are means to adjust that.

Just make a copy of the character sheet and name it Original Jane Doe and don't have it in the campaign, just in your list of characters.
