Hello everyone, in a couple of weeks we are going to start dungeon of the mad mage, the thing is that im between two clases: the rune knight subclass of UA, or the raven queen warlock. What caught my attention about the rune knight is that he gives you the option to have an advantage in the rolls of various types skills passively. The fact is that I wanted to maximize my charisma, maybe get expertise in deception and intimidation taking advantage of the extra feats of the fighter and try to avoid some fights by some roleplaying (we houserule that you need both, a good roleplay and good throws). But the thing is that i dont know if such situations are found in this campaign. Other usefull skills i could get from the class are arcana (beeing mage in the name i asume that skill may prove usefull) insight (our dm didnt use it too much in our last campaign) or rogue tools (i could get expertise by a rune). In combat i would probably use tandem tactician and intimidate the bad guys (we houserule that you can with the skill). The other option would be a raven queen warlock maxing charisma and wisdom to get a very high perception, maybe get eyes of the rune keeper and eldritch sight. I want to avoid multiclassing this time as i really want a straight character. Could one of these be useful in this particular campaign?
This feels like a conversation to be had with your DM about game expectations and what you can do to help make your character feel useful. I'm also not sure what you mean by Raven Queen Warlock, do you mean the Hexblade Warlock?

I did but he hasnt read much of the campaign so far so he just doesnt know. The Raven queen patron lets you add charisma to perception and overall gives you a very cool raven that reminds me of the one of the order of the raven in ravenloft.
