Hi all, I'm new to D&D Beyond and D&D in general. I'm looking to run my first game entirely theater of the mind, with all rolls managed via D&D Beyond. One thing I'm having trouble figuring out is the best workflow for spell scrolls. If I create a "scroll" homebrew item for each spell scroll, then I can't actually seem to roll dice on that spell. If I create a "wondrous item" spell scroll then I can get the spell added to a character sheet, but modifiers don't seem to get applied to the roll. Can anyone suggest the best workflow solution for using spell scrolls with D&D Beyond?

What do you mean, modifiers? Spell scrolls don't have any modifiers to add - their to-hit bonus and save DC are both set by their spell level. For example, a level 9 scroll has a to-hit bonus of +11 and a save DC of 19.
If you want to use the caster's stats instead for your homebrew, I can tell you the staff of power uses the wielder's stats for both spell attacks and save dcs, so I'd suggest trying to copy it in your item.
Ah I see! Thank you for clarifying that. I was foolishly using Magic Missile as a test scroll and not realizing that it always hits, so I was confused about not having the option to roll for hit.
Thanks!!
