Hello! I'm a new user. I searched, but wasn't able to track down an answer that covered this. Apologies if I missed something obvious.
If I as a DM want to make modifications to the spell list for one of my players' PCs, as noted in the DMG, how would I do that here? (For example, giving a ranger with an arctic theme Armor of Agathys as a spell.) The closest I've been able to come up with so far is to make a magical item that lets the player cast the spell, but while I can deal with that as a workaround, it doesn't use the PC's spell slot.
I'm interested in doing this for a ranger, and in making a new homebrew warlock patron who, like other patrons, adds spells to the Warlock's list of available spells to learn.

Thanks!
You can create a home brew spell by copying an existing spell and let Rangers cast the home brewed spell.
I think that will work.
