I am still kind of new to D and D beyond. Does this site have or has it considered a pay for play option where players can pay to join a game hosted by a DM? I am thinking about the same thing START PLAYING is doing, but instead have it located on a single site using d and d beyond as a playing platform rather than jumping between D20 and fantasy grounds or VTT. A single site that has great DMs that host games for those of us who don't have a regular group.
Setting up a means of payment is easy, and doesn't even have to be part of the platform. It could be as simple as requiring a paypal transfer. DDB doesn't have a virtual tabletop though, so you'd likely still want to use another platform for that (there are options for integrating DDB features like the charsheet into some of those).

Want to start playing but don't have anyone to play with? You can try these options: [link].
Even if this site had a pair-up system for players and DMs, which it doesn't, there is no guarantee that the DM would want to use DDB for everything and not a different VTT. I, for one, prefer Foundry.

WOTC lies. We know that WOTC lies. WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. We know that WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. And still they lie.
Because of the above (a paraphrase from Orwell) I no longer post to the forums -- PM me if you need help or anything.
