So ive been looking to buy the source book bundle, but DAMN, 400$ aint cheap, especially when i dont actually get the physical copies, so i wanna wait for a good discount to come up, any idea which holidays, events or whatever may bring about such a discount?
I assumed maybe once WotC gains full control, they may do a celebration sale, but its just a guess.

They're giving away Acquisitions Incorporated and an Adventure to celebrate the acquisition. You just missed a sale right before that.
Looking through old email re: sales, looks like the next one will most likely be around August or Labor Day.

I would suggest you stick with the physical copies if you place more importance on having something you physically can hold. If you want to try out Beyond for a relatively low cost, I recommend getting the physical Essential's Kit box set, as that comes with a code to get the digital version of the adventure and a 50% off coupon on the PHB here on Beyond. If you like the convenience that Beyond provides and are willing to pay for it, then feel free to make more purchases on here. If you find the physical adventure booklet and the cardboard trinkets in the box set more useful than the digital stuff, then do not make any more purchases on Beyond.
That being said, if you want to get the book bundles on Beyond, I recommend waiting until Thanksgiving/Black Friday/Cyber Monday, as that is when there are discounts on bundles. However, I would still recommend getting the physical Essential's Kit box set first to get the most bang for your buck.
Sales seem to be about every other month. However, they have different focuses, and it's rarely the bundles. I think there was a bundle around Christmas time (give or take a month or so) and they seem to be annual, so it will probably be a while before a bundle sale comes along. You can buy individual books and what you pay for that book will come off any bundle the book is a part of so you can start beforehand and just get the bundle when the sale comes up and you won't lose anything. Be aware though that the bundle is discounted by the amount you've paid, not the value of the item. If a bundle is $100 and a book is normally $30 but you pay $20 due to it being in a sale, then the bundle will cost $80 rather than $70. You don't lose out buy buying parts individually, but you don't (overall) benefit from getting them in a sale either if you'regoing for abundke eventually.
If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
I would note that there will also soon be new owners of the site. They may have a different philosophy on sales, how often to have them, how steep the discount, etc.
They may well follow the same pattern as fandom, but they may not.
Thanks for the replies guys, but yeah, im using DndBeyond alot, mainly for the character sheets, and i want the books so that my players could use the races/items/feats that those books offer, but ill wait, i have 2 friends with all the books and i DM for them, so im in no rush(they share the books with the campaign)
Same. Every campaign I've played has been on Discord and Roll20 with the Beyond20 extension. Having never been a "table" player, I find it so much easier to use D&D Beyond to create a character, keep my inventory stats current, add and subtract gold, etc. We're getting ready to start a new campaign and I was hoping there would be a Memorial Day sale. I'm in a unique position to get the big bundle since I already have several source books (thank God for the electronic versions of the books - I can make the text as BIG as I want!). I was hoping I'd be able to get them while the opportunity still exists (it didn't during that last sale). I don't know if I'll still be in this position by the time Black Friday rolls around. =(
One thing that virtual table tops cant beat, never in a million years, will be the feeling of rolling physical dice XD
But what you said is exactly how we play right now with my first group, our second group also uses DndBeyond for tracking, but we meet in person once every two weeks.

That would be a bit hard. Our DM is located south of the Equator. LOL!
