I'm playing a level 9 Grave Cleric Water Genasi in a pirate based Home brew game. My Cleric found a Compent Pouch that all I have to do is find the material I need and place it in the pouch. If I take it out and use it for the spell the material the material is still found in my pouch. My DM has realized I could do something amazing over and over again with this its apparently breaking something. What could I do with this ? Nothing from Beyond is being used only from books.
Well a normal component pouch already contains all the non-priced material components you'll need. If your DM allows it to fill in for priced materials, then at the very least, you could easily cast your revival spells (revivify, raise dead, etc) which require thousands of GP valued diamonds. divination is another powerful spell you can abuse with that. Stuff like that.
As DxJxC said, you would only need to buy the consumable portion of a spell once, saving you a lot of gp.
But it gets more extreme, there are spell components that you can sell, so once you have put one of those in the bag, then you have some potential quick cash.
If it is something of very high value, you could sell it at a massive discount, still earning quite a bit of gp, and potentially boosting the local economy in the process.
