Companies never voluntarily drop pre-orders early. Doing so defeats the entire purpose of a 'Release Date' in the first place.
What happens when somebody gets a thing early is that a distributor in the supply chain between Buyer and Releaser gets their stock of physical product early, as they have to because they need the stock to sell on Release Day, and somebody screws up and starts fulfilling preorders without waiting for the actual release. "Early Freebies" are always either a mistake or someone in the supply chain deliberately breaking the rules.

Hey all,
I just pre-ordered Candlekeep Mysteries from my FLGS - first time pre-ordering anything D&D.
I know some companies have been known to send pre-orders out days or even weeks ahead of time. Does Wizards have any history of doing this?
Totally cool with it arriving mid-March, but it sure would be nice to get it earlier!
Thanks!
