So our group has been playing 5E since it came out but Id like to do some 4E, is there a way to get modules for Fantasy grounds or any resources? I was told if you had a DDI account back in the day you could get access for personal use?
I cannot speak for fantasy grounds, but DDI has been discontinued and the 4e materials taken offline. There was a couple year period where, if you had an existing DDI account, they could back door in access to the 4e materials, even though they were not allowing new accounts, but they have since shut that down as well.
You can get the books and so on from DriveThroughRpg, but there's no official sources for moving them into a VTT (people may have done it unofficially, it's worth an internet search).
I know Matt Coleville did a 4e Actual Play called Dusk using a VTT. I don't know what VTT they used or whether they build 4e into the VTT themselves or availed themselves of a community, but you may want to look into what they did. If I remembered, everyone involved in the actual play really liked how smoothly 4e worked over the VTT. I know there are episodes kept on YouTube and I'm pretty sure there's some commentary about the game where MC goes through the VTT set up and where the 4e came from for the VTT.

Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
For Dusk they used Fantasy Grounds and Matt already had the modules in it back from when it was the current edition. No idea if you can get that material on fantasy grounds now.
