I'm building out a feat that mimics Torg style taunting, tricking, intimidating, and testing of wills and it is working great except I don't want the feat to use the Ability Scores (CHA/WIS), I want it to use the Skill scores (Deception/Intimidation/Insight/Persuasion).
Am I missing something or is this something I'll just have to remind my players when they use the ability?
Got that but in this example, I want to have a feat that provides a Bonus Action that allows a PC to Taunt/Trick/Intimidate/Test of Wills a specific target within 30 feet using Persuasion/Deception/Intimidate/Insight. I would like the feat to use the skill not the ability. As it is my players use the Ability and I have to remind them to add in skill modifiers if they have any.
Not sure you can do that on an Feat and get what you want. Mostly that would be fluff anyway but you could make it an Item for what the Feat does (the bonus action portion and Range). Then it is easier to just have them add in Custom Skills (Taunt) and have them tie them to a specific Ability. So if you want Taunt (Wis) or Taunt (Cha) have them add the custom Skill and then roll it when they use the feat(ure).

That depends on what specifically you're trying to call out.
Skills are three different things rolled together. In that case, it's your Charisma modifier, proficiency bonus, and expertise status.
