I have a bard (college of eloquence) and he has a slightly rough backstory:
"Belmos grew up in a small hollow of a town, in the hills near a forest. He was known in his community to speak his mind, be playful and to be quite impulsive. Happy and content to play his lute, sing songs and tell stories to his neighbors; he never particularly felt the need to leave the peaceful shire. He knew one day he would leave to collect stories of his own, he hoped for a group of adventurers to interlope with to make songs and stories about. Never quite having the motivation to leave on his own journey, he stayed with his family. Then an accident involving his sister and her fiancé caused his whole world to change. The night of- he left without a word to his family and in the dark his went, with only the clothes he wore that day and the lute on his back. He was been travelling and preforming across the lands since, looking for a good adventure"
The accident mentioned was, of course, Belmos's fault but I don't know what he did to cause this accident and I want to add more flavor to him because two people in the campaign already caught on and it makes me want to have something more for him so my character feels more fresh and not as boring.
For some info, he is a lightfoot halfling bard (college of eloquence) background in entertainer
I don't want to make him excessively angsty because he is happy-go-lucky for the most part and very friendly but i do want to make him more interesting.
Just act natural and you will be fine with your character.
