Hey I want to play a Satyr Fighter, but my DM only allows Satyr if Magic Resistance only works if the Spell or Magical Effect originates from a Fey. Is this justified and if no with which good arguments could i convince my DM to allow it normally?
In the games I run, I swap the feature out for something similarly useful but a little less powerful.
Limited Magic Resistance.
Before you make a saving throw against a spell or any other magical effect, you can use your reaction to give yourself advantage on the roll. You can do so a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
That way you still get the benefits of advantage on the saving throws that really count but don't become nearly immune to cantrips and other spells.
