Recently I've been going back and remastering a google doc of mine that Is essentially a scrapbook of different homebrew and house rules I've found on my various 'adventures'; at first, it had a homebrew foraging system taken straight from a certain Reddit thread, that is, until I eventually decided that that would be too complex of a system for both me and my imaginary players (yes, to this day, I have not DMed a single dnd game). This brings us to today, where I plan on using an original foraging system combing the variable DCs from that Reddit example (namely, the four seasons), with the simplicity of the base system from the 2014 DMG... at least, as soon as I can figure out where to start...
What do you need help with? Foraging is only really relevant if you use variable encumbrance or a situation where the party can't buy stuff at all, since it's pretty trivial for the party to carry sufficient rations for themselves for most adventures and simply restock in between. Honestly, why are you even collecting HB stuff if you have no one to play with? Cut your teeth DMing one-shots using the basic rules before modifying them because you can't know what will work for your table until you have played with your table.

Long story short, I need your help.
