Hi everyone, I am trying to input a homebrew fighter (spell caster like eldritch knight) subclass into dnd beyond, but I can't get spells or spell slots to show up. I've been trying for hours to work out how to get this done. I tried using eldritch knight as a template instead of starting from scratch and even that didn't work, I went through that trying to copy it but still have no idea how to add spellcasting to the fighter class. I've listed that it can cast spells and int is it's spellcasting ability. I have even put spell lists on there and still nothing. I really need some help here.
With your subclass that used Eldritch Knight as the template, make sure it has the following in Basic Information:
Spell Casting Ability: INT
Can Cast Spells: Yes
Additional Spell List: Wizard
Spell Prepare Type: -- (blank)
Knows All Spells: -- (blank)
Then click Save Changes. (ALWAYS click Save Changes to be sure.) Note that you may need to wait 20 minutes or so for changes to the homebrew to percolate into the character server. If it's been longer than that and the character sheet still doesn't have the updated information, "refresh" the character by bumping them up 1 level and then back down; this ensures it has updated feature data.
Edit: Just to be sure, there needs to be a feature called Spellcasting (exactly that name) for DDB to give your subclass access to spells and spell slots. Just in case you don't have that. (Incidentally, if you want it to get Warlock-style pact slots and spells known instead, there needs to be a feature called Pact Magic.)
Hrm. Can you provide a link to the character sheet you're testing this on? (The full url, not a share link.) You could also give the link to your homebrew; it doesn't need to be published for a staff member to take a look, even if us regular users can't.

I have done exactly as you said and I still can't get spells or spell slots to show up. I truly cannot work out what's going wrong.
