So I would like an unbiased source to check my Homebrew race (based off of fisherrend's design) for balance. It is a desert dwelling nomadic race called the Roamers. This is not just a power build race, all of these are related to the origins of the race and their features. The important traits are as follows-
ASI- +2 to Dex, +1 to Con
You speak Common, and your choice of either Dwarvish, Giant, or Orcish (depends on your origin, which race your tribe has dealings with, for RP reasons)
You mature at a similar rate to an elf, but live slightly shorter. You are considered an adult between 60-70 and die at around 285.
Powerful Legs- Your legs are strong and powerful from a life of running over sand and jumping boulders. You have 35 foot movement.
Keen Senses- Your senses are far above most other races. You have prof in Perception.
Darkvision- As a partially nocturnal race, you are accustom to darkness. You can see 60 ft in darkness, and 60 ft in dim light.
Poison Resistance- You are used to the poisons and venoms of the desert's deadly flora and fauna. You are resistant to all poisons, including alcohol.
Arcane Soul- Gifted with arcane power by the power of the shifting sands, you have two cantrips from a Wis based casting spell list. Your spell mod is Wis.
Weapons Training- Trained in self defense, you often have to protect yourself out on the open road. You have prof in blowguns, longbows, scimitars, and quarterstaffs.
Besides some terrible wording, this is fairly balanced.Seriously though,work on the terms here,if Your taking a trait from another race,use it's wording.
This is not my actual wording, I put it here to show that I was not just compiling a laundry list of powerful abilities. This is not the final version, but just an abbreviated, abridged quick listing of their traits.
