I've been toying around this, as Psi Warrior seems to mesh pretty well with Monk with a few alterations. I suppose I can't paste what I've done with it here without copyright issues, so I'll just try to explain:
In general:
You replace any references to "Psionic Energy Die" with "Ki Point"
Any time you would roll a Psionic Energy Die for some affect, you instead roll a Martial Arts Damage Die
Anywhere Psi Warrior would use the Intelligence Modifier, Psi Monk would use Wisdom
Anywhere Psi Warrior references a "weapon attack," replace with "unarmed strike."
Monk Level 3
Monks get the Protective Field, Psionic Strike, and Telekinetic Movement abilities of the level 3 Psi Warrior, as modified above.
Monk Level 6
Monks get the Telekinetic Thrust ability of the level 7 Psi Warrior, as modified by the general changes above.
Monks get resistance to psychic damage (which would be part of the 10th level Psi Warrior abilities). I pulled Psi-Powered leap since step of the wind is already pretty similar. The Monk won't be getting any of the other 10th level Psi Warrior features, since the Monk only has 4 subclass "power-ups" to the Fighter's 5, and the other 10th level abilities are also basically covered by standard Monk abilities.
Monk Level 11
The Monk gets the Level 15 Psi Warrior ability Bulwark of Force, as modified by the general changes above. This comes online significantly earlier than it would for the Warrior, but I don't think it unbalances things too much.
Monk Level 17
The Monk gets the level 18 Telekinetic Master ability, modified as follows:
All of the general changes above apply
"you can make one attack with a weapon as a bonus action" is replaced with "you can use your Psionic Strike Ability without expending a ki point."
There's no free use of the ability, and it costs 6 ki points to use
What do you all think? Is this balanced? I think using Ki in this manner is pretty flavorful, and allows you to have both psionic Githyanki fighters and psionic Githzerai monks.

I like it. I think Psi Powered Leap still has value to a Monk and would like to see it in there somewhere.
Been working on it...stopped to clear my mind of it, to look at it fresh soon, and work got in the way of course.
