Hello everyone, this is my first time creating a full homebrew class and I was looking for feedback. The class' intent is to be a half-caster martial class that uses arcane spells and INT, something akin at its core to a Paladin with less support/healing. I wanted to try and create unique abilities for the class and subclasses, giving it a unique feel when playing.
The subclasses are based around different archetypes and should provide different strengths and lend themselves to very different playstyles as well.
The Spellsword spell list is not in the document yet, but it is intended to be based off the Wizard spell list. Let me know what you think and what balance changes/ adjustments it should have. You can find it here:
P.S. I was going to publish it as a normal "homebrew item" on DnD Beyond but I couldn't find any option to make a class, just subclass. If this is against posting rules I apologize.
It's more based off the Paladin in terms of design, as you can see it lacks many powerful Fighter features (second wind, action surge, indomitable, 3-4 attacks at later levels). Compared to a Paladin, it doesn't have smites or permanent aura effects, trading them in for personal buffs and the possibility to build very differently depending on subclass/ spell choices.
If you don't like it I understand, but I think there's more to it than just "eldritch knight but more powerful", and in terms of actual damage per round it may actually underperform compared to fighters/ paladins. That's just my opinion though.

That's essentially a massively overpowered Eldritch Knight. I don't see any DMs allowing you to play that.
