I created this item for my evocation wizard. It's the same idea as the transmuter's stone but I'm worried it's OP compared to the similar item. Thoughts on balancing this out?
A small stone, ordinary and dull to the naked eye but that gives off an aura of evocation magic under the detect magic spell.
This stone has the ability to absorb and stow evocation magic. Spending 8 hours attuning to this stone allows you to fill it with a reserve of your magic. You can benefit from the stone yourself or give it to another creature. A creature gains a benefit of your choice as long as the stone is in the creature’s possession. When you attune to the stone, choose the benefit from the following options:
Darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. If you already have darkvision, the range is extended by 60 feet beyond your standard range.
An increase to speed of 10 feet while the creature is unencumbered.
Proficiency in Constitution saving throws.
Resistance to acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder damage (your choice whenever you choose this benefit).
Each time you cast an evocation spell of 1st level or higher, you can change the effect of your stone if the stone is on your person.
You can use your action to consume the reserve of transmutation magic stored within your evocator’s stone in a single burst. When you do so, choose one of the following effects. Your evocator’s stone is destroyed.
Major Shield. You create an elemental shield around yourself, choosing the type of damage (acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder) it protects you from when you create the shield. The shield lasts for 1 hour. For the duration you gain resistance to that damage type.
Elemental Evasion. As a reaction, you can expend the stored energy in the stone to avoid the brunt of elemental effects of an area of effect spell or attack (such as a dragon's breath weapon), taking no damage on a successful save and half damage on a failed save.

The resistance effect is strong, and in general resistance is abjuration (same problems with major shield and Elemental evasion)
I would reccomend adding a healing effect, and an chaotic explosion effect to replace major shield and Elemental evasion
