Was hoping someone could assist me with this? I've made many homebrew things that i enjoy sharing with the overall community, but i seem to have run into a bit of a snag. Currently working on a bardic subclass, and this is the text above as to why I can't publish:
This Subclass cannot be shared with the community for the following reasons:
College of The Plaza is currently too similar to Circle of Spores to share with the community.
This homebrew Subclass does not have the necessary class features with the correct required levels.
Remember, private homebrew is automatically shared with other users in your campaigns and does not need to be shared with the community for players to access.
My concerns here are that 1) nothing matches Circle of Spores Druid subclass in any way, shape, or form that i have been able to find from the DnDwiki. 2)I have to use the DnDwiki because when I search Circle of Spores in DnDBeyond, or even follow the link, i get a 404 Error code. and 3) The class is built with bard leveling as it should (levels 3, 3, 6, and 14). So the 2nd error makes no sense to me.
I'm trying to understand what to do to fix this, if I can. is this a bug? someone please assist, if possible.
You're probably missing having text in the Short Description & Description fields of the subclass (need to be at least 4ish words), and/or you need to hit the [Save Changes] button. (That Circles of Spores error is how having too-short descriptions seems to show up.)
That said, it's strongly recommended that you don't publish homebrew until after some playtesting and making sure it all works and reads correctly on character sheets. Once you publish a homebrew, it can't be edited, and you'll need to create a new version.
I had a similar issue with this I removed all of the hashtags for linking to D&D beyond stuff in the subclass that I created and it removed the circle of spores issue I have not figured out how to fix The second issue yet with the subclass not having the required levels My guess is it has something to do with using the circle of spores as a template or it could just be an issue with D&D beyond's website because if you post the circle of spores without changing anything both of those errors will come up saying that their own content does not have the right levels Hope this helps.
Homebrew sub-classes are required to have features at specific levels, but there are some sub-classes you can copy that don't have the right combination, and if you removed features you may have left a gap.
For example, a Monk sub-class need at least four features with one at 3rd, one at 6th, one at 11th and one at 17th level, but if you copy Way of the Four Elements iirc it doesn't actually have features at all of these levels because all of its functionality is grouped under one giant feature with a bunch of options, so you'd need to add some. You can also add additional features at other levels (or the same levels), so long as you have the required minimum.
Bards I think need three features, one at 3rd, one at 6th, and one at 14th, though it's possible they require two at 3rd (as most sub-classes have at least two 3rd level features).
Annoyingly the error messages don't tell you what you're actually missing, so in the general case you'll want to check some of the official sub-classes to see what levels they have features at and see if you're missing any. You also want to check you've saved changes under Basic Information, as this seems to be when the system re-checks (just adding the missing feature isn't enough, you need to go to basic info and save there too).
Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.
I have unsubscribed from all topics and will not reply to messages. My homebrew is now 100% unsupported.
is it possible to have too many words in the sort description? if so, I might have to check that.
as for playtesting, all my content that I've published has been playtested at least once before I publish, so no worries there. appreciate the concern, though.

If you did fill in Description and Short Description, then hit [Save Changes] and it should recheck.
