I created a homebrew magic item, its basically an Amulet of he planes and an Amulet of Health combined. The system wont let it go public (which is fine, wasnt making it for the community, it was something my personal character acquired). I cannot seem to add it to my character, at least it doesnt come up in the manage inventory section. How does one add it to the character sheet?

On the magic item's details page, make sure that button at the end says "Remove from collection" (meaning that it's already in your homebrew collection). On your character, go into the character builder (anvil button) and on the Home tab make sure the Homebrew slider is on the right (should be red).
Your item should now turn up in a search when adding an item to your inventory, though if you've recently tried to find it it may take up to 20 minutes to update. If it still doesn't appear I find it's usually best to close the character sheet, then return to it later and try again, as keeping the sheet open and/or refreshing the page sometimes causes it to take longer to update (at least in my experience).
Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.
I have unsubscribed from all topics and will not reply to messages. My homebrew is now 100% unsupported.
-Snip- On your character, go into the character builder (anvil button) and on the Home tab make sure the Homebrew slider is on the right (should be red). -snip-
Thank you, that did it, I failed to remember that part about allowing homebrew.
