I'm looking to create a hybrid of a Dragonborn and a Tiefling. I mostly wanted to touch on the physical appearance aspect of them.
The infernal bloodline section of the players handbook touches on the fact that they're derived from human bloodlines.
In the aspect of one parent is a dragonborn, and the other is a tiefling, does this mean the offspring would also be humanlike? As in, would the offspring look nothing like the dragonborn?
If that's not the case, is it possible that the offspring could look like a Dragonborn but with infernal traits?
As far as stats go, would it be best to just take the stats of only one parent? Or would custom lineage be the best route for this?

That's entirely up to your DM.

Thank you.
While you're firmly in homebrew territory in this question, the D&D playerbase has by-and-large accepted that both Aasimar and Tiefling rules are the best available to use for being partially celestial and fiendish, respectively, regardless of mortal parentage. So my personal recommendation would be to use the Tiefling rules and to describe your character physically as you see fit in terms of combining fiendish/tiefling and dragonborn cosmetic traits. Check in with your DM for a question of this nature, though.

I would let them change their appearance to be more draconic but only pick one of the existing Tiefling variants.
Basically, the Tiefling gets almost nothing from their human parent. No feat, no skills, no stat choice.
