I'm trying to create an artificer subclass based around a special cannon and I want to make the number of dice the cannon uses scale with the class level (such as 1d10 at level 3 and 2d10 at level 5). I've added the cannon as an action (action type: weapon) under a class feature and the extra dice values under that feature's Level Scaling tab. However, when I select the subclass with a higher level character it doesn't increase the dice on the action. I've used {{scalevalue}} in the snippet and that is scaling properly, but the clickable dice on the character sheet does not.
Does anyone know how to properly make this happen, or what I could be doing wrong? I've been looking around but the threads find talk more about the snippets than the actual actions.
Update: I found that there's a "level override" option at the bottom of the action. This seems to do what I'm looking for. I'd delete this thread if I could, though I guess others may find it helpful.
