Hey everyone! My group had a blast doing the Rick & Morty adventure, so I thought I'd write a follow up R&M themed adventure. I wanted to add in some familiar items from the show and D&Dify them. As a note, I'm very early in the brainstorming phase for these and it's only my second attempt at homebrewing any items. I was wondering if I could get some suggestions for items to add or feedback on any of the following.
- Whip That Forces People To Like You (TBD, Worth ???)
- Invisibility Cuffs (When placed on a person, the wearer becomes invisible. Worth ???)
- Sound Erasing Sneakers (When equipped, the wearer erases all sound within 15ft. Worth ???)
- A Lie Detecting Doll (A doll capable of detecting lies. Anyone who attempts to lie when the doll is within hearing distance, must do so at disadvantage. If the lie is detected, the doll signals that a deception has occurred. Worth ???)
- Mind Control Hair Clips (Acts as a Dominate Person, charm person, enthrall or other similar spell while the creature is wearing these hair clips. Worth ???)
- Pink Sentient Switchblade (A pink sentient switchbalde, has a thirst for stabbing. Worth ???)
- Plumbus (Useful everyday household item. +1, or +2 to any skill check once per day. Maybe also require the PC to explain how it is the plumbus aided with the skill check. Worth ???)
- Szechuan Dipping Sauce (A very rare sweet and salty dipping sauce. Roll a percentile die. This represents how much you actually enjoy the sauce. A roll of 1 - 25 = 4d4+2 temp hit points. A roll of 26 - 50 = 3d4+2 temp hit points. A roll of 51 - 75 = 2d4+2 temp hit points. A roll of 76 - 100 = 1d4+2 temp hit points. Temp hit points last for 24 hours. Some would be willing to pay a high price for such a rare sauce. Worth ???
- Yummy Yums Candy Bar W/ Purgenol (After consumption, it sends the person into a Rage similar to that of a Barbarian. Worth ???)
Meeseeks box would make a great item, but in our game the Meeseeks box got destroyed by the time they finished the dungeon. Woiuldn't be a bad idea to try and bring in a new one at some point later down the road though!

What I like to do with any sentient homebrew items is to give them an over the top personality that is inline with their job.
Ring of Protection? more like Ring of Overprotective Mother +1
The Pink Sentient Swtichblade sounds great.
"Can I stab him?"
"No, he's my familiar. It would take a 10 minute ritual to get him back."
"So I can stab him once every ten minutes? STAB-TASTIC!"
not sure about the others but i did make this a while ago
