A while back I made a homebrew species and absolutely love it. Mostly because I almost exclusively play Artificer and the main gimmick being that it both creates and utilizes a specific resource (in this case, a sheep-type beastfolk with their wool). However, I got to thinking today that some variety would be nice and started brainstorming ideas for another similar species. I also thought it would be fun to post here to see what other crazy ideas we can come up with using the same premise.
My WIP example to start off with:
Basically mixing aspects of a salamander and a variant form of lizardfolk. The rough idea so far is combining the defense mechanism of dropping the tail and the elemental fire of the salamander to make a super chef. Like a meaty goodberry, if you will.
Weird? Yes, absolutely.
Useful? Also yes. Nearly everyone has to eat.
