My DM has given me a special item for a campaign that he created (he doesn't use DNDBeyond). I am trying to recreate it in the Homebrew area. The item gives +3 to hit for spell attacks and +3 to damage for spells. I've been able to add the +3 to hit as a bonus, but I can't seem to get the +3 damage to show up no mater what modifier I create. Can anyone tell me how to do that please?
I checked this a bit, but there is no modifier for a bonus to damage for spells.
The way I see it, there is only 1 convenient way to display at least a note on the sheet, so you don't forget the bonus:
Go on the sheet, Attack section, and click Manage Custom. Create a Custom Action with the type General. In Fixed Value put 3, check Display as Attack. In Snippet and Description, put a more detailed note of the effect. This way, you will have a note of this effect on the attack section. Not optimal, but it is the best I can think of.
So I just discovered that you can click on the individual spell listed in your known spells and click Customize and add a damage bonus. I did this for each spell and now they all show +3 damage. Not as easy as just creating an item that does that, but still useful.

This is not possible when the spell comes from an item source.
Why was I added to this?
