I'm in the process of making a homebrew sword that my DM gave me in our campaign (just to move away from paper character sheets), which is a longsword that does 2d6 slashing, 2d6 radiant, and 2d6 necrotic. How do I change the base 1d8 to reflect the new damage?
As far as I know there is no way to change the base damage of a weapon. You could, however, base the weapon on a Greatsword instead of a Longsword, in order to get the 2d6 base Slashing damage, add to it the Radiant and Necrotic damage, as well as the Versatile property. I am not sure there would be an actual way to take out the Heavy and Two handed properties from the base greatsword, but they can just be ignored, I guess.
