I'm incorporating the Skaven from Warhammer Fantasy into my setting, and with them comes warpstone of course. I really like how it's handled in Mordheim: City of the Damned, where just touching raw stone causes random magical effects, but they don't directly translate to 5E. I'm hoping to get some suggestions on what sort of effects I could inflict on my players without being too harsh. My initial thoughts were to make it a DC 12 CON save to resist, and on a failure suffer Disadvantage on ability checks on a random stat sort of like Hex. I also want to incorporate warpstone bullets for the gunslinger in the party. I considered an on-hit Bane effect for 1 round without a saving throw. Alternately, I think it could be fun for the Wild Sorcerer to craft a warpstone spell focus that would impose Disadvantage on Wild Magic Surge rolls for maybe a free sorcery point/metamagic on spells cast with it. Perhaps there could even be a Wild Magic Surge roll on touching raw warpstone?
This is a creation I made for my own campaign, maybe it's of use to you. The picture is not what I was looking for, had something else in mind but unfortunatly I'm no good with Photoshop. Just imagine a hand made of the same fluorescent and vile green of warpstone in the form of a hand. https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/2764285-the-warpstone-hand
