In the Treasury of Dragons one of the "Gifts" that players can get is "Draconic Rebirth", then they also released a new Fey based dragon called the Moonstone.
I was trying to make a Moonstone Dragonborn with the "Dragonborn of Bahamut" breath ability where they heal instead of deal damage.
Would a healing Breath Weapon be too broken or should I have it stick to dealing damage?

I would compare it to Lay on Hands or a celestial warlock's healing light. Maybe its only on long rest it recharges vs short and long, or maybe the short rest too unlocks at a higher level to keep on par/scale with similar abilities. But no, I don't think it would be broken to have it heal.
Question: you thinking 15 ft cone or 30ft line? Follow up- they cannot heal themselves with it can they?

Really, it should be compared more to the aasimar's Healing Hands feature. The legacy version heals for an amount equal to your level, while the MotM version heals for a number of d4s equal to your proficiency bonus; both have it limited to once per long rest.
Maybe it could be something like this:
When you use your Breath Weapon, you can exhale regenerative rather than destructive energy in a 15-foot cone. Roll a number of d4s equal to your proficiency bonus; the total is the number of hit points you can restore. Divide the total however you wish among creatures of your choice within the cone, and each affected creature regains hit points equal to the amount you allotted it.
Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.

My group uses the OneD&D Dragonborn, so you can choose Line or Cone.
And I'm thinking no, as the breath weapon can't hurt themselves either, so they can't heal themselves.
It would be roughly on par with 5e Aid or Mass Healing Word. I'd say it is ok if it is 1/long rest and is the only non-ribbon feature they get.
