Hello! So I came up with a dark elf different from the Drow that better fits my setting. While thinking of how to make them playable, I had the idea to make them sort of customizable or modular based on the half-elf variants. I had the thought that because they have a wide genetic variance, they’d have a few different options to pick from.
I was thinking they could choose the skill versatility the half-elves start with, or the wood elf traits they can get, or the drow magic trait, or the high elven trait. I guess basically swap out for which ever elven trait. I was also thinking of adapting the possible use of the human variant that starts them with a feat as a possibility, but I worry that might be too much.
and for the ability modifiers, I thought maybe just giving them three pluses in whatever they’d like, at a maximum of two in one. So they couldn’t put three in one...
Does this sound ridiculous or broken or too much? I don’t know, I’m just trying to get some insight I guess. Thank you so much in advance!
