I am in the process of building a custom class. At certain levels this class gains the ability to learn new languages. Currently I am unable to find a way to actually add the option to select a language during level up in order to officially add it to the list of the character's known language proficiency list. Is this possible? If so, how? I'd really appreciate a step by step guide on how to do so, as this is my first homebrew and I'm a bit out of my league learning to use this site.
I'm also unable to prepare any spells other than cantrips on the character's overview page. The learn button is simply greyed out. Any ideas on why that might be? Magical Secrets are also not populating in my spell list either.
For the greyed-out spells problem, you need to leave blank the boxes "CAN CAST SPELLS?" and "KNOWS ALL SPELLS?".
For the proficiency in a Language, you create a trait. In that trait, you create a modifier with the following options selected: Modifier Type: Language, Modifier Subtype: Choose a Language.
Thank you so much for solving the spell issue for me, but I'm having trouble with your solution to my language issue. I don't see the ability to add a trait during the editing of my subclass. Are you giving me directions on how to add new/more languages to a created race as opposed to a subclass, or am I completely missing an option in the subclass editor that allows me to gift the class with new languages at specific levels?
Sorry, I called them traits when they are class features. Anyway, trying to be more specific below.
On the main editor page of the subclass, you should have Basic Information and Class Feature. Create a new Class Feature. On the Class Feature Editor, you have the opportunity to create a lot of things. Go on Modifier and create a new Modifier. On the Modifier editor, select Modifier Type: Language, Modifier Subtype: Choose a Language.
I've been staring at this editor for five days, hopelessly. I'd posted this previously, word for word, but got no response in those five days. Decided to delete it and resubmit it, and within minutes you'd responded. Please, take my eternal thanks. You completely solved two of my issues that have been keeping me from being able to publish my subclass. All I have to do now is figure how why my Magical Secrets aren't on my spell list/prepared/anywhere to be seen on the character sheet and I'll be good to go public. Thanks a lot.
My test character is level 20. I've selected various spells for their magical secrets. None of them show up in my spell list. But on my level 10 Lore Bard, both my Additional Magical Secrets and Magical Secrets appear on the list appropriately. Can't figure out why it doesn't work that way for my homebrew subclass.
Does that allow anyone who views the link to see and/or edit my subclass? If so, I'd prefer to send it in a PM. Haven't shared this with anyone just yet. And if I am to do this, am I literally just copy/pasting the URL for the page where I edit my subclass?

You are welcome.
Well, maybe I can help with Magical Secrets?

Ok, post here the link address to your homebrew subclass editor, I'll give a look.

Only moderators can view that, but yes you can PM me the URL of the page where you edit the subclass.
PM incoming.
