I'm trying to design A D and D character that killed a sea beast when they were a pirate and now is slowly turning into one As part of their body are becoming water i'm not sure how to do this could you help me.
This feels like something you could mostly do through reflavoring, rather than needing to homebrew anything. To me, this just sounds like a reflavored Triton if you want to focus on turning into a sea beast, or a Genasi if you want the focus to be more on your body parts turning to water. Both races make you Amphibious and grant a swim speed... Genasi is more focused on controlling water directly, since it gives you the Shape Water and Create/Destroy Water spells innately, while Triton focuses more on general weather control, giving you Fog Cloud, Gust of Wind, and Water Walk. Triton also lets you communicate with sea creatures, if that's a feature you want to focus on.
