So, to those fellow 3rd party dabblers like myself who know more about the system than I do (and who have had the fortune of purchasing or perusing the nightfell corebook, and for those of you who have not a link to the SRD of the class can be found here), I posit the following question: Is the Master of Tradition class "good"?
In essence, is the class viable enough to stand alongside mainstay classes if used outside Nightfell? What are your thought on the class as a whole? (Please note that in my efforts to utilize the classe outside Nightfell any mechanic that causes a player to gain/regain "Soul Points" instead grants "Temporary Hit Points")
Why do I ask? Because I've been working on a project and the class caught my eye. My plan is to create a d20 table so unsure or new players (or just starting players who want a bit of chaos) can roll and receive a class on a d20. This class looked interesting, but the more I look atit the more narrow I think it is. I have added a number of additional subclasses to the base class to fill out most of the other creature types, including a generic one. However, I'm worrie dthe class was a sinking ship to begin with, when the more I think about it, the more it seems that other classes do what it does, but better and with more versatility.
Subquestion: I have a love/hate relationship with this class's name. If givent he option to change it I have opted to choose "Occultist" but was considering "Erudite". However, I'm quite open to hearing additional suggestion son what others would choose to call the class.
