I wanted to ask, would you accept this spell book at your table?
Origin: It's meant to have been stolen from a temple by the player who was an Artificer in the temple as his back story. He wants to become a wizard using the book. it's a backstory item, so he has it at level 1, and won't actually become a wizard until Level 4 (3 Battle Smith, 1 WIZ), when in story, he fully assumes "Ownership" of the book, and uses it as his wizard spell book. He speaks Celestial, as part of this backstory. (in the backstory Celestial is used so others won't learn the spells)
Spell Book: Written in Celestial, contains 20 spells -
Limitation: The owner Can only cast spells according to WIZ level, not spell caster Level. The owner does not learn new spells when leveling up, until WIZ level 8 when he can expand on the bock's knowledge. can be expanded upon using other means (scrolls) like a normal book.
LEVEL 2 (4 spells)- find steed, Hold Person, Zone of Truth, Enlarge/Reduce
LEVEL 3 (4 spells)- Mass Healing Word, Counter spell, spirit shroud. spirit guardians
LEVEL 4 (2 spells)- Find Greater Steed, fire shied
The concept is for an artificer Varient Human(GW master), to have escaped the Temple of Vlakath. As she is not a god, she uses Arteficer Slaves to create scrolls from this book, and her arcane fighters learn from the spells(instead from normal progression). It's mostly Paladin and Cleric spells, all the spells Vlakath can't give, as she is not a divine. This is part of her lie, she uses spell books and scrolls instead of divine power, it's why it's written in celestial, as Vlakath is "Goddes" you get her divine power "When you are worthy to learn it". but she caps her ppl, that is why it stops at lvl 4 spells.
The Goal is "a bard/warlock "paladin" without the Bard, Paladin or Warlock, but with INT For RP reasons mostly. a Bard/Warlock has 2 things I hate, main character syndrome, as all charisma SAD are, and the Hex Patron, I want my power to be from me, not divine, or patron, or any other "Vlakath". " - Player.
