There are currently over 1,500 homebrew subclasses with the word "blood" in the name. Even I made one.
It's a popular trope. In modern media there's a lot, including a blood bender in Legend of Korra anime and a live action blood manipulator in the TV show Gen V (a spin off from The Boys TV show).
So yeah, give it a go.

Just looking for some input on making a set of classes that use blood for abilities. (Their own or their enemies/friends).
like a wizard could cast a spell that they have prepared without having a spell slot by taking 1 hit die damage per spell level.
