I'm working on making a spell, where I want it to stun the target if they fail the save and incapacitate them for a shorter duration if they succeed. Is there a way to make this happen automatically?
After initially creating the spell, if you expand the "Additional Information" section, you can choose what the save roll is and have text showing what happens when successful or failed.
Then, under Conditions, you can add Incapacitated and Stunned (separately), choosing the duration, and adding more text in the details saying when each occurs.
As for what you mean by "happen automatically"... if you mean showing the effect on another character sheet or something, I don't know if that's possible without just manually inputting the effect, though tbf, I'm not familiar with the actual campaign play in dndbeyond as I use other sites for maps/rolls/etc and only use dndbeyond for the character building.
