hey all, i have 1 homebrew background out there (i wont pimp it) and it has a good amount of eyeballs and decent amount of add's. i was wondering for those that look to use homebrew backgrounds, how much do you value the random tables that are at the end over just an interesting background to build your own table-like ideas with? i did not use/fill out any of the random tables and i wonder if that is holding the background back, or if it is fine the way it is.
Those are there to teach new players how to think about creating a fully fleshed-out character, and judging from the new players at my table, they work.
As a DM, I really like them, because whenever I'm feeling tapped out on creativity when creating an NPC, I roll on them to give me a direction quickly.
