I am wondering why it says in the sublacss creation thread that druids get a class feature at level 3, but even according to DnDBeyond, druids only get subclass features at levels 2, 6, 10 and 14.
2014 Druids get a subclass feature at level 2. However, 2024 Druids (in fact, all 2024 classes) don't choose their subclass until level 3, so they get a feature at level 3 rather than at level 2.
I’m making a 2014 Druid homebrew and it says in DnD Beyond, that Stormlight post about creating subclasses that druids need a level 3 circle ability, but the circle abilities are only at 2, 6, 10, and 14. Not 3
That’s because there is a long standing bug in D&D Beyond’s homebrew system where for some classes it checks for the presence of subclass features at BOTH sets of levels (the 2014 ones AND the 2024 ones) and so you need to add a “dummy” feature to compensate.
Just wondering because the thread to create a Druid subclass was made in 2018, 7 years ago so it has nothing to do with 2024 rules. I’ve ran into this bug several times with DnD Beyond before there was a 2024 edition.
Sorry, I don’t know which thread you’re talking about. I’m just saying there’s a known bug that causes the issue you’re talking about.
the thread I am referring to is Stormknight's locked post on the first page that says "Creating a subclass guide" from 2018. It says right on the very first page of that guide that druids get a subclass feature at level 3, while in the Player's Handbook, they don't get anything at level 3.

Ah. Pretty sure that's just a typo.
