I'm totally unhappy with the way I'm limited in the Item/Spell creator but maybe you can help me so hear me out.
I'm still building a "Hidden Blade" I could not remove the Weapon Property of the dagger aka thrown, so I thought fine take a blade, but I cant set the dmg-die to a d4 for this … fine I created a Wondrous Item, but I can't manage to get it Show something in the Action/Attac tab, gosh FINE I created spell (that my rogue Player can't use) so I linked it to the Wondrous Item aaaaaand it worked, so I though, the spell showed up under attack, but the "to hit" modifier was wrong, only proficiency and not the DEX-Bonus, I tried to add it to the spell but noting, I thied to add something to the Wondrous Item, that affected only spells … nothing, so I created a subclass (thief) that can use spells and uses DEX as the spellmodifier but it wont fricking work... please there must be at least one beautifull person out there that can help me out here D:
So how you can help
Do you know a way to remove Weapon Properties? Do you know a way to Change the dmg-die of a base weapon? Do you know a way to make a Wondrous Item that Shows up in the Action/Attack section? Do you know how to change the Spellcasting Ability modifier? Why does my Homebrew class don't add it's Chosen spellcasting modifier to a custom spell?
And have you any ideas how I can build the following Item
Hidden Blade Dmg: 2d4 Dex to hit (+proficiency of Course) Bonus dmg on surprise 2d6
I hope someone can help me here, I'm so done right now :D
"Do you know a way to Change the dmg-die of a base weapon?"
Cannot be done.
"Do you know a way to make a Wondrous Item that Shows up in the Action/Attack section?"
Cannot be done.
"Do you know how to change the Spellcasting Ability modifier?"
For a spellcasting class, cannot be done. For a non-spellcasting class to which you are adding a spellcasting feature through a subclass you have the option to specify this in the spellcasting ability field when making a subclass. Cannot do so by any other means.
"Why does my Homebrew class don't add it's Chosen spellcasting modifier to a custom spell?"
There are no homebrew classes here. You can make a homebrew subclass but if the class itself is a spellcasting class it uses the spellcasting ability for that class and you cannot change it even if you use the "spellcasting ability" field when making a subclass for it. If you are making a subclass for a class that normally does not cast spells you enter the spellcasting ability you want to use in the relevant field when making the subclass. You must use that same area to detail what spells it has access to and it will use the spellcasting ability you chose for those spells only.
"And have you any ideas how I can build the following Item
Hidden Blade Dmg: 2d4 Dex to hit (+proficiency of Course) Bonus dmg on surprise 2d6"
Create Magic Item, choose Weapon type, base weapon Dagger.
Enter name and description as normal. Create.
Use additional info section for relevant tags (combat, damage, etc). Save.
Create modifier >> Modifier type: Damage >> Subtype: Piercing >> Dice count: 2 >> Dice Type: d6 >> Details: Extra damage if target creature was surprised.

When viewing the item in your attacks when equipped it will show regular dagger damage and in notes shows +1d6 P, +2d6 P. If you hover over these parts each one pops up the info entered into Details. This is the best you will get.
First of all, thank you very much, you helped me alot here.
So basicly, thoses "Problems" I run in can only be solved by out lovely developers I guess. Maybe someday when they are allowed to see the sun again they have time to overdo the creator tool :D
Sorry for the Classthingy, I know that you can only build a subclass for now, my bad :)
Correct me if I understand you wrong but here is the way I did it now.
Created a Subclass for Rogue (identical to thief but able to cast spells) -> added a Class Feature for lvl 1 (I know you can choose the archtype not until lvl 3) -> added under Spells:
Spell Level: Cantrip
Ability Score: DEX
ount as Known Spell: Yes
Alway Prepared: Yes
Available at Character Level: 1
The other fields I ignored and did not Change a damn thing. After that I added my Wondrous Item (with the Spell attaced to it). Now it shows up in the Action section and DEX is applied to +hit and dmg like I wanted it to do.
It works but did I do something wrong or is this "perfectly" right? The only downside is, that this "item" works only on one class and after reaching lvl 3 and selecting my "Homebrew Subclass"
