So I made an item for DMs to use to allow faster rest periods, curious what people think.
Tea Service of Repose
Wondrous Item, uncommon
This silver tea service consists of several pots,cups, saucers and serving trays capable of serving up to ten individuals. If tea and treats are prepared over an hour and the command word is spoken the tea service enters a state of stasis retaining the quality of the food and drink indefinitely until the comman word is spoken or any piece is moved.
Once prepared the command word can be spoken to allow up to ten individuals to enjoy the tea service over ten minutes, gaining the full effects of a Short Rest in that time. Once a person benefits from the Tea Service of Repose they cannot do so again until completing a Long Rest.
Rumors exist of a full dining set that when prepared over 8 hours can be placed in stasis and then provide a Long Rest after spending one hour eating from the dining set.
