We have a PC in our party who is an artificer and he has created the Adventurer's Atlas for all of us. I went in to make a custom item and edited it so that the modifier for the item is a binus 1d4 to initiiative. When I equip and roll, it's not additionally rolling the 1d4 to my initiative. Any idea why?

The homebrew system doesn't have any support for adding die rolls as bonuses to anything. Only flat numbers are supported for things like this.
