Trying to create some sidekick stat blocks for my players, and noticed I had to put in what the creatures add to their skill checks, and when I go to view the stat block it says the original proficiency bonus of +2. I saw nowhere on the screen to change the creatures proficiency bonus. Is it connected to their CR?

Yes, you increase the CR of the Homebrew character/monster until you get the Proficiency Bonus you are looking for.
It doesn't seem to work for 2024 stats
