Some time last year, I was scrolling the dndhorrorstories subreddit and I found one post about a trans-phobic DM making a trans player's female character be reincarnated as a male when they were killed in battle and reincarnated by their party's druid. While I agree that what happened was beyond terrible, it gave me an interesting idea for a new mechanic for the Reincarnate spell. After rolling 1d10 to determine the character's new species, you would roll another 1d10 to determine the character's new gender. An odd number means they will be reincarnated as a male and an even number means they will be reincarnated as a female. Aside from the fact that this idea was inspired by a case of blatant trans-phobia, would it be a good idea?
It makes perfect sense, but you'd definitely have to make sure that everyone's on board and no one would be weird about it, like some of the other horror stories.

I have run it that way before as long as all the players agree it can be very fun, you can also roll for age as well. We had a male tiefling wizard reincarnate as a female orc.
