I am attempting to port a homebrew subclass of mine into D&D Beyond and I am struggling with these two features in particular:
Truncheon. When you make an attack with a simple melee weapon that lacks the Two-Handed or Versatile property, you can use your Dexterity modifier instead of Strength for the attack and damage rolls. In addition, You gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls with these weapons.
Slingshot. The damage die of your slings becomes 1d6, and their normal and long ranges are doubled. When you hit a creature with a sling and can apply a Weapon Mastery property, you can use Vex or Sap instead.
Is there a way to define a group of weapons similar to how monk weapons are defined that would capture "simple melee weapon that lacks the Two-Handed or Versatile property" so that I could then apply those bonuses to that group? and if not, Is there a way to give said bonuses to each individual weapon that would fall under that category?
The same goes for the 'Slingshot' feature, how do I give bonuses to a specific weapon such as the sling? Only some weapons seem to show up in the 'modifier subtype' field.
This may be beyond the scope of what this tool can handle, but it really shouldn't be.
You're not wrong. One of the things they've said they're doing with the new character builder they're working on is redesigning everything so that rules like this are data rather than code, and that foundational change should enable a lot of things people have been missing, including stuff like this.
I figured as much, thank you. I know a revamp/reword of these tools has been in the works in one way or another for a long time so hopefully we'll see something soon.

It is, unfortunately.
