I created a variant to the arboren race found on the D&D Wiki. Its exact replica exists on this site, and I've just published my variant. I designed the race to get a +2 to Wisdom and a +1 to any other score of your choice. Problem is, it still lets you select Wisdom, which isn't intended. I pulled down a copy of half-elf to see if anything was different, and it doesn't look like it. Can anyone offer a spot of advice?
There isn't really a way to do that. I think the devs have to program special exveptions for the races that do that. And some of the newer races don't even have that exception programmed yet (like warforged envoy). You will just have to put the instructions in feature description and hope players are capable of following them.
