After taking a look over spell it here's some item's of note I came up with;
Adding Material Component - I just feel like because this spell uses a rod or poker like object that requiring the spell to have a material component just makes sense.
Damage vs Duration - Sorry, this might just be me, but I just feel like this spell is a little too short for what it intends to be used for. Plus as a ritual spell to channel for 10 minutes for 1 minute of spell effect just seems lack luster to me. Though for 1 minute 3d6 is rightfully punishing, so if you were to extend the spell I would defintely reduce the damage. My suggestion would be to have the duration be 10 minutes, and reduce the damage to 1d6. That way there is some time to actually use the spell rather than rushing to get the individual to spell before the spell ends one minute later.
Right Spell School? - I feel that this spell doesn't fit in the school of divination. I can understand the whole "it temps people to tell the truth in fear of fire" but even zone of truth, which is even more so a "If you speak, you speak the truth" is an enchantment spell. I know this spell does blur the lines of what school it belongs to, but I would say that Transmutation (causing the rod to heat when lie) would work best for this spell.
But all in all, I really do enjoy the overall idea and feel for the spell. Definitely plan on using it in my games. (also just a heads up your links to you homebrews aren't working)
I made a rather silly spell today: trial by fire, a.k.a., what happens when you cross zone of truth, heat metal, and medieval torture practices.
