Hey everyone, I just started this thread so that I could hopefully get some feedback, tips, etc... on some monsters and such that I've been working on before I submit them into homebrew. I'm currently trying to update some older monsters from earlier editions, and have been getting some help already from friends on a D&D Discord I'm apart of, but figured that people here probably know a whole lot more about writing and balancing and such.
Here's one of the first ones I'm working on. It's based on the Blood Ape of 3rd edition. I noticed that while there was a CR difference, the attributes and such were nearly identical to those of the regular apes in the same edition, so the stats for this are somewhat similar. However, I have also homebrewed the alpha to make it a different entity, in this case the crimsonback (as they're based on mountain gorillas). Any suggestions/edits you guys would recommend?
Converted the Stone-Eye Basalisk from 4e. Since it had almost the exact same stats as the regular 4e Basilisk, I've altered it to a term for older, stronger individuals. Feedback and any suggestions/edits are much appreciated.
