If casting a ritual involves setting up a series of glyphs, objects, etc. in particular patterns and nothing is consumed during the process, should it be possible to cast the same ritual spell faster after doing the 10 minute set up? Specifically, I am thinking with identify in mind, but this should also be applicable to other ritual spells.
Once an object is identified with a ritual, what are your thoughts on players being able to swap out the item for another and use the already set-up ritual space to re-cast identify at a shorter time (whether it be 1 action, 1 minute, or half the ritual preparation time, for example)?
I'd like to hear your thoughts on why this could be good, bad and/or otherwise from a practical/in-game point of view, as well as a meta-game point of view. Also, do you have any different personal interpretations of how ritual magic works that would affect this?
Plus like... 10 minutes isn't a big deal. The whole idea is that it's enough time that you can't just do it on the fly in the middle of doing something else, but not a period of time that's so long that it would greatly delay an adventuring party. If it's important to get a ritual spell done quick fast and in a hurry, then you've gotta spend the spell slot.

I think of the setup aspect of a ritual casting of identify involves the actual object to be identified. So a new object requires a new setup.
