I am starting a campaign and asked all of my players to think of a magic item they were interested I made them the items and they had some drawbacks to them as well to keep them balanced in my eyes. I wanted all my players to have a specialized magic item for each player based on their character and class.
I have another player who is playing an Abjuration wizard and we couldn't think of anything for them that wasn't already a worse version of items that already exist. If anyone has any basic ideas that I might be able to work with I would appreciate it.
When your Arcane Ward absorbs damage from an attack, you can use your reaction to deflect that attack towards another creature within range as if you had made the attack. Make a spell attack roll against that creature, on a hit the target takes damage equal to the amount of damage your Arcane Ward absorbed.
This is too weak compared to what you gave the other PCs, maybe add +2 AC or something as well? Or have it double or triple the recharge of the Arcane Ward?
